1.Brief introduction of the course content
Study the distribution, accumulation, dispersion, paragenetic association and migration rules of the chemical components and chemical elements in oil and gas in the earth crust by theory of chemistry.

2.Course objective and basic requirement
It is a subject mainly of organic geochemical theory, together with element and isotope geochemistry. The course objective and basic requirements include:
① to study the origin, distribution, chemical composition, structure, properties and evolution of the organic matter that related to oil and gas in geologic bodies;
② to discuss the process and mechanism of the transformation from organic matter to oil and gas;
③ to study the primary and secondary migration, secondary structure and alteration of oil and gas, accumulation characteristics of oil pools;
④ to study the inorganic—organic interaction, variation and the rules and significances in the formation process of oil pools and development process of oilfields;
⑤ to provide guidance to the oil & gas exploration and development.
